Nasseem and Sanna Farag v. Advance Auto Parts, et al.
Ed Slaughter won a complete defense verdict on behalf of a national supplier of automotive components in a mesothelioma case pending in Los Angeles Superior Court. The plaintiff alleged exposure to asbestos from brake components, clutches, and gaskets associated with his 30 years as an employee and owner of service stations in Ontario, California. The defendant presented expert testimony that work as a garage mechanic does not increase the risk of mesothelioma and that the plaintiff's disease was attributable to unknown exposures to other varieties of asbestos. The case was tried over a five-week period in before the Honorable James R. Dunn.
Ed Slaughter was assisted at trial by Jason Irvin and Macy Chan.
