Naturally Occurring Asbestos in the United States
The various minerals that have been categorized or described as asbestos have been mined or otherwise located in regions across America. The following map and related references identify all of the sites we have been able to identify. We have made no effort here to separate fibrous from non-fibrous minerals or hazardous from non-hazardous. If you know of other sites that should be added, please contact Edward Slaughter.
To use the map, zoom in on the region of interest and click the individual pins.
