Al Parnell is a pioneer in product liability, environmental, and toxic tort litigation – he has served as lead trial counsel in more than 250 cases in over 30 states. Al has defended many of the largest multinational corporations in toxic tort litigation, including Atlantic Richfield Company, BP, CertainTeed Corporation, Dow Chemical, General Electric, Johns Manville, Monsanto, Stauffer Chemical, and USG Corporation.

Al has served as national counsel for numerous companies involved in asbestos, chemical, and multi-district litigation. He has played a major role in the strategy and negotiation of the settlement of thousands of toxic tort suits, and he has been lead counsel in many landmark asbestos cases. In 2016, Al secured a defense verdict on behalf of CertainTeed in a Florida wrongful death mesothelioma trial.

Outside of the courtroom, Al dedicates himself to the professional development and continuing education of attorneys and legal service providers. He is one of the preeminent speakers in the industry and has delivered more than 225 presentations across the globe for legal organizations, state bar associations, and distinguished law schools, colleges, and universities. Al has also been instrumental in shaping the scope of education and in designing conferences across the United States, including numerous programs for Defense Research Institute (DRI) and creating the Defense Asbestos Litigation Seminar (DALS). DRI recognized Al for his "noble" and "influential" leadership in the industry, as well as made him a recipient of their national Louis Potter Lifetime Professional Achievement award. In 2012, Al was recognized by Best Lawyers© as "Lawyer of the Year" in mass tort litigation.
