Rob Thompson is a member of the Firm’s Business Litigation Group, focusing on commercial and contract disputes, business torts, false advertising, unfair business practices, fiduciary duty disputes, products liability, construction litigation, and intellectual property disputes. He brings and defends cases on behalf of individuals and businesses in both the state and federal courts of Georgia and the Southeastern United States.

Rob was recently part of a team of HPTY business litigation lawyers that obtained a hard-fought preliminary injunction proceeding under the Lanham Act in the Northern District of Georgia on behalf of Osmose, Inc., a leader in the wood preservation industry.  The ruling followed a week-long evidentiary hearing and enjoined the Defendant from continuing with a pervasive, negative advertising campaign designed to destroy one of Osmose’s product lines.  At the same time, the team successfully defended the Defendant’s retaliatory attempt to enjoin certain advertising claims made by Osmose.  The key provisions of the order were upheld on appeal by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Rob represents and has represented many leading national and international corporations, including The Sherwin-Williams Company, Square D Company, Storewood Hotels & Resorts, O’Reilly Automotive, Inc., Comcast, Hubbell Power Systems, Roto Rooter, Osmose, Inc., and Valvoline Company, a division of Ashland, Inc.
