Macy M. Chan
Macy Chan is an associate in the Toxic Tort and Products Liability Practice Groups at Hawkins Parnell Thackston & Young LLP. Macy’s experience in complex litigation and asbestos cases includes handling voluminous case loads from service of complaint to trial or settlement. Macy has participated in all phases of litigation, including motions to dismiss based upon forum non conveniens (with 6 successful dismissals), summary judgment motions, motions in limine, motions for nonsuit/judgment, trial briefs, motions to compel, demurrers, motions to strike, and attendance at all court hearings, including case management conferences, trial setting conferences, mandatory settlement conferences and final status conferences. Macy also assisted in the successful motion to dismiss an appeal on behalf of the client.
Macy has taken and defended numerous depositions on behalf of client, including plaintiffs, witnesses, plaintiff experts, client experts and co-defense experts. She also handles investigations and questioning of potential witnesses, when necessary.
