Lane Young is one of the nation’s leading asbestos defense lawyers and has been handling asbestos cases since 1977. Since that time, he has tried over fifty asbestos cases to verdict while serving as lead defense counsel. In addition, Lane devotes a significant portion of his practice to representing lawyers in the southeastern United States. Over the past quarter century, he has represented over 100 lawyers and their firms in legal malpractice actions. Lane has tried over twenty-five malpractice cases to verdict and brought over fifty appeals before the court.

Professional Experience

Lane currently serves as National Asbestos Trial Counsel for Ericsson, Inc., Celanese Corporation, and Scapa Dryer Fabrics, Inc. He has also served as lead asbestos trial counsel for a number of other major corporations, including Sherwin-Williams and American Biltrite, Inc. He has represented virtually every legal malpractice carrier in the United States.

Lane successfully defended the only known brother and sister living mesothelioma case that has been tried in the United States. He also obtained the first defense verdict in a mesothelioma asbestos case in Baltimore in the last ten years. At the same time, he has continued to successfully defend law firms in jury trials throughout the State of Georgia.
